WILD PLANTS FESTIVAL
Kršan-Chersano
The Wild Plants Festival gathers participants from all over Croatia and abroad and offers a unique experience of the traditions in gathering wild plants, applying their healing properties, their use in aromatherapy and gastronomy. The two-day event consists of an exhibition, sales and educational part. Visitors can learn about the purpose and method of using wild plants in gastronomy and phyto-aromatherapy, and about protecting such plants.
Exhibitors offer traditional teas, essential oils, medicinal plants, honey, cosmetics and other products made from wild grown and medicinal plants. Herbalists are educated about the method and time of harvesting, proper drying process, making cosmetic preparations, use of plants in the preparation of drinks, cultivation of medicinal plants and the like. Visitors can learn how to distinguish and find medicinal plants by taking short trips to one of the meadows near Kršan. In addition, there is a rich gastronomic offer with very interesting and tasty dishes made from wild plants prepared by excellent chefs.
The festival is environmentally aware, that is, measures have been taken to reduce its negative impact on the environment. The event is held at the Pristav Sports and Recreation Centre in Kršan.
