Olive growing in Istria - the secret "capital" of olives - what a wonderful target! On the "Stancija" VALENCANO, just four kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, between Pula and Rovinj, this dream has come true for Jörg and Cornelia. In 2022, they seized the opportunity to own a two and a half hectare estate, located lonely in the hinterland of the Adriaic Sea. 950 olive trees thrive here on the organic-certified plantation under strict compliance with environmental standards - an expansion is in the works.The focus is on the two native varieties Istarska Bjelica (Bianchera) and Buža. Furthermore, Oblica and Leccino as well as some others varieties of Italian origin are cultivated.

Olive oil from this region, including the Extra Virgin Organic Olive Oil VALENCANO, is so rare and popular that it is enjoyed almost exclusively by locals, holidaymakers in Istria and friends of the producers. The top quality of Istrian olive oil also convinces international bodies. In recent years, the FLOS OLEI editorial team has declared Istria the best olive-growing region in the world for the seventh time in a row.

The VALENCANO Extra Virgin Organic Olive Oils also received the best awards - of course listed by FLOS OLEI and at the NYIOOC 2023 Gold Awards for all three olive oils - Istarska Bjelica, Buža and the Blend.
