Special reserve in the sea
Flooded canyon-shaped karst valley; specific seawater features favour the growth of a rich marine fauna and flora and seabed communities; a spawning ground for some species of fish. A rare landscape with valuable vegetation diversity in a narrow belt – the canyon’s northern slopes are overgrown with autochthonous holm oak maquis, while southern are covered with downy oak and cerris.
Suitable for scientific research, mariculture, boat excursions, hiking, cycling, education, commercial activities.
