Mramornica Cave

Sterle Agritourism

One of the largest caves in Istria, Mramornica Cave is a true gem of the Istrian underground. The first recorded mention of the cave dates back to 1770, when it was visited and described by the famous travel writer Alberto Fortis. Not far from Brtonigla, near Stancija Drušković, after almost vertical stairs, you’ll find the entrance to one of the largest underground halls in Istria, rich in dripstones of various colours, stalagmites up to thirteen metres high, which give Mramornica a special charm. From the developed cave trails, you can enjoy the view of the inaccessible parts of the cave, which seem mysterious and even more tempting.

For all lovers of untouched nature, far from the summer hustle and bustle, Mramornica is an ideal place for a refreshing activity in the nature.
