The golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is a nesting bird of northern Istria (karst edge area) and can often be seen “cruising the skies”. Its wingspan makes it the 4th biggest eagle in the world (185-220 cm) and one of the most dexterous and fastest flyers. It is a skilled predator with no natural enemies.
